Holiday Season

This is probably rest week for the MMA Guy. Well it just had me realize how hard it is to promote a fight and how hard it is to launch a fight event.
WEC with Cerrone-Ratliff
Well this is probably on the news and on MMA sites but its hard to think that a hardcore MMA guy like won’t be hyped to know what happens. Seems that well, in the MMA industry there would always be a niche market, meaning to fight in a locality with all the fighting that is happening all over the US. And then there is main stream MMA where UFC, and Dream resides in.
WEC is owned by Zuffa if I recall correctly and even with the machinery that UFC organizers have, I think they still fail to reach other stubborn fans like me. Less hype is less income probably. Though I hear good things about WEC and their fights, the way they built up Urijah Faber was really good until a certain Mike Brown formerly unknown whooped his ass.
Rambulan sa Asya
This is actually a local MMA event where an acquaintance of mine is fighting. Scheduled for Dec. 19, 2009, tomorrow at 7pm at the San Andres Sports complex Malate Manila. Quite an interesting event to watch but the timing is off. Tomorrow is my dear wife’s birthday and I am giving this day to her. Happy birthday my loving wife!
December is the season to be jolly, but how do fighters celebrate their holidays? How much weight do they gain after? Something that is fun to ponder about. What about Rashad Evans fighting on January 2, how does he celebrate? Well being a fighter has its pros and cons and at this time, it is becoming a profession where people can get a decent living out of. Well yeah Evans and Silva does have to sacrifice the season but after that we normal beings go back to work while they can have a holiday any day.
Happy Christmas season to all. I hope next year that would actually be to a lot of people reading my stuff
