Pacquiao defeats Clottey in a 12 round Snoozer

Don’t get me wrong, Pacquiao was amazing and did everything he could to make the fight exciting. But when 2 fighters steps in the ring, one is there to box, the other just there to withstand punishment, it still becomes a boring fight in the end.

Clottey passes to be a good training partner or probably should a new robot trainer design should be, keep on the defense and after a specific number of punches either throws in a Jab or a Hook or even an uppercut.

In Clottey’s mind, he lost even before the fight began. He said Pacquiao’s power is nothing yet he did not made his way to risk things and feel it first hand. Pacquiao got a few shots in and see how Clottey gets imbalanced after such clean shots.

In my opinion, this was simply a money fight… Sorry to say but it really smells like it. Clottey knows that Pacman is great and is proving a legacy, he on the other hand is a Rocky Balboa type of story where he gets a shot at the big time. Pacquiao is retiring and might venture into politics so I guess Clottey said to himself what the heck.. (I would continue but it does not really sound good)

I think Clottey went in there to lose, but to lose as to make face making sure he does not get knocked out. Its a fight of legends and Clottey was just standing there.. Does not fit my logic in any angle I see…

Congratulations to Manny, and I think that this win will really boost his rankings in the coming elections. If he wins, as Freddie Roach said, he probably loses his best fighter.

I really think Manny only has one more fight in his belt, the winner of the Mosely – Mayweather fight. And that would be epic!

Filipinos are Born Warriors

This idea just came to me and opened up a series of thoughts on what more to feature on my MMA Guy site. Well for starters and as stated in my title, Filipinos are Born Warriors, just exemplifies that if you have Filipino blood in your system then probably you can be an excellent fighter.

My basis are the following:

Manny Pacquiao – Current pound-per-pound king. Pure Filipino, bread from the province of General Santos.

BJ Penn – part-filipino, just don’t know how much but I heard that he is. He even visited here years ago and trained with known pinoy fighters in the country. Best lightweight at 155 lbs in the world and has swept the division by storm.

Brandon Vera – part pinoy as well. A real talent in his division and has pure potential, it is just a matter of time before he converts his potential to true applied talent and when he does, he will definitely dominate the division he is in.

Ofcourse the most notable is Manny Pacquiao and BJ Penn since both are now leaving a legacy in the sport. When have you seen a fighter trying his best to leave a legacy besides the likes of Muhammad Ali, and George St. Pierre. People trying to make a name for themselves firstly in their country and 2ndly to the world.

Manny Pacquiao has definitely proven that he is the Pound-per-pound king of today and he will cement this come March 13, 2009 when he puts his name on the line with former pound-per-pound king Floyd Mayweather. Whatever the outcome is, definitely there will be a part 2 or 3 till someone gets a lead with 2 wins.

Filipinos by themselves are warriors by heart and who knows if the greatest fighters or warriors before were really Filipino bread as well. It just makes me think that how does a Filipino like the people I have previously mentioned achieve such greatness and who might be the next Filipino to do so.

I plan on creating a documentary as I can with what I can uncover with the likes of BJ Penn, Manny Pacquiao, and Brandon Vera. Also not to mention, we have a Filipino by the name of Vince Soberano who is an Adjarn in the art of Muay Thai, still fighting and still elite. Just proves that if pinoy blood runs through your veins, you can always be a potential great fighter.

I know that it might not sound good us Filipinos getting known together with such violence. But a fight is a fight and what makes a good fighter is not just his physical attributes but his spirit. Filipinos have good spirit, and I can say that each and every Filipino is a fighter in a sense or two. Like a mother taking care of her 5 children, pinoys abroad who leave their families to provide a better life for them. That is a fighters spirit, someone who does not give up and someone who gives everything to achieve what he or she wants.

We should always be proud of our pinoy bloodline becomes its what we are and what we are capable to do. The possibilities are endless!

Wapakman featuring Manny Pacquiao

This is actually just an experiment of mine trying to see how many people and from what countries will be interested in Manny Pacquiao’s upcoming movie WAPAKMAN!

Well it’s kind of interesting really for me being an MMA fan and a movie fan as well. Just watched Law Abiding Citizen and thought it was great!

WAPAKMAN is a typical superhero movie in which the main hero is Pacman himself. Seems that from its trailers, it’s like Spiderman, and Hancock brought together. There is a viral trailer of it shown in movie theaters which features all kinds of people getting WAPACKED! hehe

Lets see how this post does. Or will it really lure people looking for WAPAKMAN information. To make this more relevant, watch the link below:

Pacquiao-Mayweather is On!

Recent news here in the Philippines concludes the much awaited Boxing fight in all of history here in the Philippines and probably the world if I might add. I am not much of a boxing fan myself but you can’t help it if one of your country men is tagged Pound-per-pound King in Boxing.

I heard that the fight will be on March 13, 2010 as when Manny accepted this fight when Bob Arum went to manila to negotiate such an endeavor. Manny, 31, is considered the best pound-per-pound fighter after defeating the most dangerous Miguel Cotto last November.

This is a fight that all of the world will be watching and promised to be the best boxing fight in the history of boxing. Just hope that Mayweather comes in to bang so as not to bore fight fans who will be expecting a lot from this event.

For me though, I think March is too early for Manny, but on the contrary, he might be in the best shape of his life and just wanted to continue on what he has achieved preparing for the Cotto fight. Its easy to get slacked here in the Philippines. Maybe, he just wanted to stay out of his vices, continue to be strong and be stronger and fight the best fight of his career.

Pacquiao is now a legend in the Philippines, and defeating Mayweather will make him a legend in the World stage of Boxing.

Pacquiao Won!

Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto was by far the best Boxing match I have seen ever… that being that am no boxing fan hence I have only watched a few.

Fortunately my brother had some tickets on Guilly’s Island on Quezon city which I would like to thank also for having such good food and an awesome venue for the said event to take place.

Every round was full of thrill and each round you see Manny take it except for Round 2. But no one could ever assure Pacquiao’s safety until:

1. Cotto gets KO’d
2. 12 rounds pass for the decision

Why? Because Cotto is such a beast and we know how strong his left hook is. ITS A KILLER! Anyway, I felt that everyone had the same feel that I had knowing that most of the attendees knew who and what Cotto can do.

I salute the referee for giving Manny that fight, thinking of Cotto’s well being and ending it in TKO fashion. Great job and great event. Mabuhay ang Pambansang KAMO!

Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto

I know that this is not MMA, but Manny is one hell of a Filipino fighter which is always worth writing about and talking about. For a fact, I know that most Americans love Manny Pacquiao hence I guess it will not hurt if I created a category just about our Pambansang Kamao.

Been doing a quick research about Miguel Cotto since for 1, I actually don’t know anything about this guy except that he bangs hard. I think he is like a small Cain Velasquez for me. Strong and big chinned fella who loves to bang.

Had to watch a Miguel Cotto highlight and seems that for the first time I felt nervous for Manny in this fight. All the while I was thinking that this fight is a tune up fight for Manny to take on Mayweather. But on the other hand, the tune up might be for Cotto.

I have seen Cotto, and they say he is slow and all but that was not the case over the highlight reel I saw of him. He is not slow, and his main power is his left hook. Probably beaten most of his opponents with it. That’s the punch Pacman should avoid, a Left-hook-right-straight combination from Cotto. Cotto has only lost once and it turned out that the fighter who has beaten him got caught cheating. So it is safe to say that he was robbed in his loss.

Anyway, with all that said, I believe that Cotto-Pacquiao fight will very much likely be a battle.

If Manny can make it a speed battle of exchanges, he might take it home. A run at Cotto might be too much for the Mexican. Hit and move is the key for Manny. But slow exchanges would probably cost him. Beware of the Cotto left hook, he starts everything with it.. head.. body.. head… and it will be goodnight.

I am rooting for Manny that’s why I am picking on Cotto to win! Hehe I have picked all Pacquiao opponents in his last 2 fights and Manny won them all. So I am sticking to my choices hence not to jinx pacquiao!
