Breaking Down UFC 106

UFC 106 was action packed as knockouts and submissions were real apparent all over the event. Starting with the Killa B KO win against Marcus Davis which came surprising as Marcus Davis is a real gate keeper in the sport and is a real tough guy. I just think that he got caught up with Ben Saunders game and got the best of it. Knees are really heavy and their fight proved that. Killa B via brutal KO.
Next interesting match was the Koschek – Johnson fight. I really don’t like Kos personally as he seems to be a real douche to me when he fights but you can’t take out the fact that he gets better each time he sets himself out there. Controversial fight due to the penalties but was nevertheless exciting with the exchanges that had gone on. Kos by rear naked choke befor the end of the 2nd round.
I actually predicted 3 fights correctly at a No Risk Sports Betting site and it really surprised me how my other picks went south. Anyway Sadollah looked great as well as Paulo Thiago. These 2 I picked with no hesitation to win. And coming on to the main event which I picked correct as well, how cool was that
Griffin vs Ortiz fight was great! Well I watched a delayed telecast and already read a lot of review sites commenting on how it went. They said that it had gone south as Griffin seems like have robbed Ortiz of the win. So I had to wait and watch it myself before I can actually write my opinion about it. And all I can say is that, Ortiz looked like a punching bag on Round 3 and I can decisively say that Griffin won that fight fair and square no questions.
You see how the Shogun – Machida fight has affected judging and how people saw things? Well I am not sure what gives, or what the UFC is playing, I am an opinionated guy and I think the UFC is trying to see if commentators affect how people think seeing the what if’s and how can they influence people. Just my crazy mind thinking there nothing serious really.
Anyway, back to the fight, I really thought Ortiz won until I saw it, I read like a couple of play-by-plays and read that it seemed Ortiz had won and it was a questionable win by Griffin. I was wrong, I watched it, and saw how Griffin picked Ortiz apart with his strikes. Lefts, rights, straights, leg kicks, and reversals. I could give Ortiz round 2 but just for consideration of him winning a round and because he cut Forrest that round but that was just it. An awful 3rd round and a shameful defeat as he tells people of his injuries at this moment taking away the win credit from Forrest. Back injury my a**, he said he was 100%, and then now excuses and still considering himself the winner after his aweful performance.. Ortiz just dropped 2 stars from my list. I actually picked him to win first but later changed it to Forrest after seeing the countdown and interviews on how he wants to get back into contention.
Forrest looked good on this fight though I did not really saw anything different from his fight with Anderson, I still think Anderson can do the same thing he did the first fight but that is a different scenario. I see Forrest doing good against other Lightheavies like Belfort, Rogerio and Thiago Silva.
Totally forgot about Rogerio’s win, probably because I betted against him, or it was a real quick one on how he disposed of Cane. I liked that fighter and I totally agree with Joe with his dark horse speech as the fighters were called out. But Rogerio did not want anything to interfere with his debut hence he monstered Banha out. I chose Cane because I saw his fights and I know Rogerio can be dropped like the other 2 fights I remembered him by with Shogun, and Sokoudjo.
Kudos Rogerio by as I believe, Knockout of the Night! Overall UFC 106 was great even with no title contention on the line-up!
